Brief post here… I came across this yesterday:
Trust Digital, a provider of enterprise mobility management (EMM) solutions for government organizations and large businesses, may have done more for the iPhone’s adoption in enterprises than Apple’s sub-par iPhone deployment tools have accomplished so far: Trust Digital’s EMM lets companies secure and manage Windows Mobile, Symbian and Palm devices – and the newly added iPhone support marks the first time that a trusted IT infrastructure vendor recognized Apple’s smartphone. This means that businesses do not have to deal separately with Apple hardware and can rely on a single provider to manage and deploy smartphones from different vendors.
Funny that it does not include BlackBerry in the list? That’s because BlackBerry doesn’t need any help to make it into an enterprise environment… it’s already “enterprise-ready.”
I don’t know enough about Trust Digital to comment on this product but would appreciate comments or opinions from anyone who has used it.

Just a few insights on our recent press release. For many enterprises, Blackberry is their mobility strategy and the yardstick for other management platforms. That being said, Trust Digital is seeing a lot of interest from Blackberry shops who want the flexibility of supporting iPhone for web-based apps (or their users are demanding it) but still want Blackberry like management. Our customers asked us to extend our platform support to the iPhone because they did not want to use their Exchange email server to secure the device and they could not use Apple’s tools to configure and maintain the iPhone in a scalable way (i.e. beyond 25 devices).
Dan – Thanks for dropping by and for your response. Feel free to forward more information to us and/or case studies. We are always looking for content and if this helps our enterprise readers we will post it!
