As we surf the blogosphere seeking interesting and valuable material on mobile strategy, enterprise mobility or just general tidbits on mobility (i.e. Mobile 2.0, mobile web, mobile advertising) we come across other interesting bloggers from time to time. One important criteria for us is whether we believe the other site brings value to you as someone interested and involved in enterprise mobility.
Last week we recommended Enterprise Mobility Matters.
This week we want to introduce McGuire’s Law by Russ McGuire. Not sure how many of you have heard about him (or his law
) but it a good place to drop by and visit if you are looking for interesting tidbits on mobility. Two features that Russ has which I find valuable are:
- - Business Observations – where Russ provides links to a ton of useful writing around mobility and wireless. Few examples here, here and here.
- - Recent Research – Great links to research reports which saves time instead of going to each analyst site you can let Russ do the work for you as he states… “Research is good. Free highlights from expensive research reports are great.” Examples for November, October and September.
One more thing, Russ is also the one responsible for McGuire’s Law:
… a simple observation that has significant implications for businesses. The law states that the value of any product or service increases with its mobility, where the value of mobility is realized as availability and contextual relevance. [Emphasis added by us]
Mobility enables a product to be with you all the time. This dramatic improvement in the availability of most products results in a multiplication of the value of the product.
Simple yet true.
