I disagree, though I realize this article is almost two years old now. Having "stumbled" out of the Microsoft world and into Apple's lap I found myself exclaiming, "where have you been all my life!"

When I meet with advertising agencies or television producers or even, gasp, pastors on church visits, the one tool I see them reaching for when they want to show me what they are working on (whether it's sermons, research projects, video clips or charts, graphs and numbers) is their iPad.

The Microsoft world has certainly come a long way to try and catch up with Apple in the mobile market (tablets are now a dime a dozen and smartphones are not hard to come by), but they still has a long way to go.

(P.S. I'm in my thirties, I don't listen to Coldplay but I do believe aesthetics matters because it shows that someone has taken pride and care in the work they've done.)

Here's some interesting insight into their "strategy"...

Keep in mind, Windows Mobile currently has a geeky demographic of loyal fans (the forums over at xda-developers are home to some of the most brilliant minds in mobile development)... this "fresh start" is them reaching out to a new demographic, but this is a very hasty move on their part.
