iPhone in the Enterprise

As I follow the WWDC keynote at MacRumours.com I can’t help but think how …

  • Apple’s knocking at the door of Enterprises is getting louder and louder and in some industries there may be little that the competitors can do to keep the iPhone out.
  • In fact they are banging at the door quite loudly and it will not be long before it is as ready as the BlackBerry platform.
  • Any idea that anyone has about the iPhone playing catch up is not grounded fully on reality.
  • They are in fact infiltrating the enterprise slowly (actually faster than we think).
  • Look around you… how many iPhone’s have slipped into your organization?  That you know of…
  • Some industries will jump faster than others…
  • Healthcare is one of those industries where BlackBerry does not have even have a soft grip on … and which is ripe for the picking (especially after the Palm Pre launches without a single Medical app available on their new WebOS).

Much to think about.

What excites me the most about the iPhone is not the iPhone itself (I don’t even use one) but what it has done and continues to do in the industry… pushing the envelope and leading the way.
