Good Morning! Light snow falling outside my window but warm thoughts of this week’s Carnival of the Mobilists hosted on a mobile server. Mobile Server? Yup… Antoine hosts this week’s Carnival on a web server on his Nokia phone using a service called Mobile Web Server which on their website says:

Mobile Web Server makes your device accessible on the Internet. You can access phone features and data via a browser and share your life through a personalized mobsite.

After almost a year of following Carnivals and submitting our own entries as well it is a privilege for the Mobile Strategy Blog to host the 202nd edition of the Carnival of the Mobilists!  For this week we have thought-provoking pieces, inside scoops, tough questions and overall interesting posts on a variety of topics.  All of our writers provide a reflection of what is happening in the market as they discuss Mobile Operating Systems, application stores, Google’s latest acquisition (AdMob), mobile banking and mobile financial services.  So let’s get started…

For this edition we welcome back MOpocket which after a long hiatus is back and sharing with us the inside scoop on Windows Mobile 6.5.1. Of special interest to Windows Mobile followers is the answer to the question: Is WM 6.5.1 real? It also includes a bonus high-level explanation on the difference between resistive and capacitive displays.

Enrique Ortiz writes a provocative piece that will surely get BlackBerry fans upset.   He proposes several reasons why RIM should drop the BlackBerry OS and go with Android instead.

Over at WIP Jam Thibault interviews the CEO of Handster.  What is Handster you ask? A white label provider of appstores for carriers, device manufacturers and other distributors.

MSearchGroove presents a podcast this week that opens up by declaring the exciting month of November – as an all about Android month.  It does well in asking the uncomfortable question as to how many Android devices have actually shipped?  It touches on Google’s purchase of AdMob and how the giant is in fact buying distribution relationships with mobile publishers more than anything through the acquisition.  There is of course … go listen check it out.

This week we welcome Carnival newcomer David Eads from Mobile Manifesto who lives up to his blog’s subtitle of providing strategic insight into mobile commerce with an analysis of Scotiabank and M-Com’s announcement last week that mobile banking will be available in Canada in Spring 2010.  David asks some good questions and wonders what will actually be delivered. David’s piece follows where my earlier post on Mobile Financial Services in Canada left off.

This week’s Carnival is hosted by fellow Canadian blogger and mobile enthusiast Phil Barrett over at Burning the Bacon… It wasn’t planned like this but next week’s Carnival will be hosted right here.  This means Canadian content two weeks in a row for the Carnival (the CRTC would certainly approve and perhaps even fund both of us).

Go burn some bacon with Phil and read what’s being said in the mobile this week.

This week’s Carnival is hosted by Chetan Sharma over at Always On Real-Time Access.  It features posts on social media, mobile advertising, real-time demand data and mobile application development.   Head over there and enjoy … that will also buy me some time so I can post something over here.

It is Carnival Monday once again!  This week’s Carnival is hosted by VOIP Survivor.  Lots of good reading that may help you get warmed up before a full day of work.  This week’s Carnival also includes two of Mobile Strategy’s pieces from last week (one mine and one from our guest author last week).   I won’t tell you much more since the point of it all is for you to visit this week’s host.

This week’s Carnival is hosted by a fellow Canadian blogger: Phil Barrett of Burning the Bacon. The Mobile Strategy Blog (that’s us) did not submit anything but since we are on the schedule to host a Carnival in November we are holding the party line and letting folks know about it without linking to specific posts.

It is a big week here in Toronto with the city hosting Mobile Innovation Week. Unfortunately I am not able to attend any of the events due to client engagements, deadlines, RFP’s and travel… Unfortunate indeed since I have a paid ticket for the Mobile Biz Bootcamp on Wednesday which I will not be able to use.

We were unable to submit anything for this week’s Carnival. However, you should still head out there and see what is happening and what has been written in the last week. Several interesting pieces… but that’s the catch – like in all Carnivals – you need to visit the host: wipJAM.
